İclal Ayşe Küçükkırca received her BA degree from Boğaziçi University Philosophy department and completed her PhD at Binghamton University at the Social, Political, Ethical and Legal Philosophy department with the title of Homelessness and Homemaking. She works on homelessness and homemaking processes from a spatial and historical perspective particularly in conflict-induced contexts. Her second research interest is Feminist/Women’s Movements in Turkey and in the MENA region. Currently, she is a PSI fellow at the department of Gender and Media Studies for the South Asian Region at IAAW, Humboldt University. She is granted by the DFG an Independent position for the period of 2022-25 and will continue working at the same department.
İclal Ayşe Küçükkırca lisans derecesini Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Felsefe bölümünde tamamladıktan sonra Evsizlik ve Ev Kurma başlıklı doktora tezini Binghamton Üniversitesi Sosyal, Siyasal, Yasal ve Etik Felsefe programından almıştır. Çatışma sonrası bağlamlarda mekansal, tarihsel ve kesişimsel açıdan evsizlik ve ev kurma pratiklerine odaklanmaktadır. Diğer çalışma alanı ise Türkiye ve MENA bölgesinde Feminist/Kadın hareketlerdir. Şu anda Humboldt Üniversitesi, IAAW Güneydoğu Asya Bölgesi Toplumsal Cinsiyet ve Medya Çalışmaları bölümünde PSI bursiyeri olarak çalışmaktadır. 2022-25 yılları arasında DFG Eigene Stelle ile aynı bölümde çalşmaya devam edecektir.
